The Off-Road Cup
9-Hr 3-Man Team Race New Ownership
May 29th, 2012
Lafayette, LA –The Off-Road Cup was created by Acadiana Racing LLC in 2011. The inaugural event took place in Louisiana and in 2012 moved to Mississippi. In an effort to expand the reach of the event and to attract all racing series, The Off-Road Cup is moving north.
Midwest Off Road Events LLC (MORE), one of the newest off road racing series in the US, has acquired The Off-Road Cup from Acadiana Racing LLC. Future events will be promoted by MORE in various locations. This fits well with the main purpose of The Off-Road Cup - determining which race series in America can put together the best three-man team for the 9 HR event.
Pro teams representing MORE have won The Off-Road Cup the past two years. Steve Leivan, multi-time regional and national level offroad champion, has been a member of both winning teams and is heavily involved in all MORE events. The regional race series uses the same MotoTally electronic scoring system and is also successfully promoted by long time racers and family members – meaning there is vast knowledge about how to put on a top quality event, so the transition will be smooth and easy.
Stephanie Leivan-Pratt with Midwest Off Road Events LLC, stated, “The entire MORE Staff is very excited to promote this unique off road team race. We are looking forward to continuing the tradition of The Off-Road Cup and are already making plans for the 2013 event.”
Lucas Comeaux, President of Acadiana Racing LLC, commented, “We’ve had a blast over the last couple of years, have met some great people from all over the country, and we’re looking forward to watching this unique event grow under the direction of the MORE crew.”
