Eric Yorba is an up and comer in the amateur ranks. He's had countless podium appearances in WORCS and currently sits 2nd in the Pro 2 Lites class. Read on to learn more about one of off-road's future Pro racers.
The Fuel
For every race, what I eat depends on how much time I have before my races. If it's just something quick I'll stick with a bowl of cereal. For me, the more sugar, flavor and all that "bad stuff" for you; the better! If I have a little more time, I like some pancakes or waffles with a lot of syrup! I usually go out to race with a nice sugar high. Another must-have for me is candy! I can't go a weekend of racing without eating a nice bag of Sour Patch Kids. That's a must have for me! But as for a nice meal I usually enjoy some pasta or whatever my dad throws on the grill. Anyone who comes to the Yorba camp on the weekends and sees the grill, knows it's gonna be a great weekend with some great food!
The Tube
I love watching movies and TV. For me, as long as I can laugh I'll watch it! I love watching something that can make me laugh. As for TV I like to watch Tosh.0, Big Bang Theory, and Two and a Half Men. Those are some of the funniest shows I can think of. Some classic movies I enjoy are The Hangover, Dumb and Dumber and Hot Rod. Hot Rod is the greatest movie ever made! That guy is a complete BOSS! I hope I can be like him one day for sure.
The Text
As a graduate of the class of 2012, I made myself a promise that I will go as long as possible without reading a book! Reading was never really something I enjoyed and tried to go as much as I could without reading. But on the rare occasion I do read, it's usually the new copy of Transworld or some of the stories or comments on some moto websites.
The Sound
I like to keep it real. Hangin out with Jake Oswald got me to start bumpin some Miley Cyrus when I show up to the track. I don't like those guys that come out to the track and have to act tough. I like to mess around and have a good time. Miley definitely pumps me up and gets me ready for a race.
The World Wide Web
As a typical teenager, if I go on a computer, the first site I hit up is Facebook. But other than that I'll be sitting on Vurboffroad, Vurbmoto, or even YouTube just trying to get a laugh. I mainly just chill on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram on my phone. I get sidetracked way too easy with those three sites. It's not a good thing but I can't help it!
The Motivation
I just recently found that "self motivation". When I was younger I sort of took everything I did, like my riding and racing for granted, but now that I'm older and at the level I'm at, I learned I really needed to focus and get serious. I know that racing and doing what I love to do is a privilege, and I need to enjoy what I do and live in the moment because at any moment it can all be gone. I've gotta make the best of what I got and just go for it! My inspiration would definitely have to be my dad, he has gotten me to where I am now today and I have to give him the credit he deserves. He has stuck with me every step of the way and has pushed me and gotten me to work hard to try and do the best I can. But at the end of the day I know it's what I love to do and as long as I keep myself motivated and I enjoy what I do, I'll keep with it till as long as I can.
The Down Time
There is nothing I love to do more when I'm not training or riding than grab my Xbox controller and just play. I get all of my training in on there! I get on some MX vs. ATV Alive for my riding practice, FIFA for my cardio and Call of Duty for my hand-eye coordination and reflexes. I'm a complete nerd when it comes to video games. But most of all I just like to hang out with friends and have a good time. If you're laughin, you're livin. Have a good time with your friends and family cause no matter what, they're gonna be there.
