Jared Boothroyd Captures First Win at MX 101

Round seven of the J Day GP series headed to MX 101 in Epping, NH. With the J Day Offroad series heading into summer break, the racers and spectators were fired up about the racing action. The track was a rider favorite with most of the MX 101 track used in addition to the infamous J Day Offroad flowing woods. With blue skies above and moist dirt below, the racing was fantastic.

Moto one started with Josh Cennamo taking the early lead with the stacked pro class in tow. Derrick Barnaby passed Josh Cennamo on the motocross track and led the pack into the woods. Jared Boothroyd started middle of the pack and worked his way through the pack, passing riders in the KTM extreme section, by doubling features. Boothroyd was the only rider to attempt and complete such a maneuver. At the end of lap four, Boothroyd caught Barnaby and jumped over Barnaby for the lead in the KTM extreme section. Boothroyd maintained the lead between himself and Barnaby and took the moto one victory. Barnaby held on for a solid second place finish. Cennamo took third place in the moto after grabbing the Holeshot. Fourth and fifth place would go to Kyle Hangos and Jimmy Edmonds.

Moto two saw Ethan Broatch grabbing the STS Motorsports Holeshot. Jared Boothroyd would quickly take the lead where he pulled away from the rest of the pack and eventually finished 30 seconds ahead of second place finisher Derrick Barnaby. The final spot on the podium went to Josh Cennamo who rode strong all day to land himself on the podium once again. Fourth and fifth place went to Kyle Hangos and Jimmy Edmonds.

The overall win would go Jared Boothroyd with two moto wins. Second place went to Derrick Barnaby with two second place finishes. Third place went to Josh Cennamo with two third place moto scores. In the amateur division, Jake Surprenant was awarded the $100 Kevin’s Cycle award.
